The EU lifted the control on some Vietnamese spices and vegetables

The national animal and plant health and epidemiology and quarantine advisory office of the ministry of agriculture and rural development of vietnam said that the european union had just issued the commodity safety regulation (EU) 2023/174, amending the EU's provisional provisions of 2019/1793 on the implementation of official and emergency control measures for some EU imports.

According to the regulations, four Vietnamese commodities such as parsley, cilantro, basil and mint are no longer subject to the official and emergency control measures of the European Union. This means that these goods are no longer subject to 50% restrictions when exported to the EU market.

According to the regulations, the sampling rate of Vietnamese instant noodles and Lantern Pepper products is 20% and 50% respectively.

The European Parliament and the European Council (EC) hold a meeting every six months to review and assess the extent of food and feed safety violations by countries exporting to the EU. Subsequently, the EU will announce changes to its control measures regulations.
